Call me a bit biased because I work here, but I trusted them with my pup for a long weekend and she had the time of her life - and my coworkers happily documented and sent along proof. After my dog almost passed when being watched by family the last vacation I went on, I was extremely over the top worried about leaving her again - but they followed all of my crazy directions and stayed in contact the entire time. I even got goofy, wonderful Easter pictures of my pup while I was gone!
If we're good enough for me to trust for several days, we're definitely worth a try for your pup! Join the happy, paw-some family.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dallas M.Vero Beach, FL821Sep 4, 2021
Do NOT take your loved ones here!! Please read! I'll keep it short for my mental health . My dog is gone because of this place .
He was not sick, he was not old . He was just a baby 1 1/2 years old and under there watch he was hit by a car.
Our lives have been turned upset down. And our baby will be forever in our hearts . Here is a picture of our beautiful boy that was loved sooooo much and had the best life!
Ps. It had taken me about 6 months to be able to speak out about it. But I want to make sure it does NOT happen again.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Jules R.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Feb 9, 2023
Toxic workplace for employees and unfair to clients and dogs.
They take your money and keep your pets in rooms most of the day!! Wouldn't bother to give vet medical advice if needed to their clients at the spa unless owners took them and PAID for services. So pets would suffer sometimes. Wouldnt even allow me to clean and care for any incident WITHOUT CHARGING, but your vet associated? I have been working here for 3 years with 2 of them with constant disrespect. Was giving new position with no raise that was discussed. Overlooked my hard work and then some. Its pretty much a dog themed boot camp if its not Peter or Reina way, its to hell with you. Taking staff tips and telling them to give back or be terminated pretty much. When clients loved what the staff would do for their animals. Owners were never around to deal or see what we had to deal with. It was the previous staff excluding the assistant manager (who they talked and laugh about behind her back to other employees) that kept this place going.( most reviews talk about STAFF) No appreciation for any of their hard work that's why everyone left. TOXIC ENVIRONMENT ! No raises but made everyone work 1000x's harder. Did not care about employees emergency situations outside of work. Always up charging services for no reason. Bullshit them on what their pets did throughout the day. When knowing each client I was always honest with them that's why they loved me... The only reason I bothered to deal with all of this is because I'm a single mother WHICH they know about and accommodated with (I have Proof of everything thanks to slack) I was fired unfairly because of a fb post that didn't even have the companies name on it smh trying to look for advice which is what the groups are for. Instead of talking to me privately and being professional they fired me through email with lies to cover their asses. But that's okay they didn't deserve me anyways! Do not take your dogs here unless you want them in a room all day .. Your dog deserves Better and this AIN'T IT !Helpful 0Thanks 3Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sherri H.Atlanta, GA06Nov 21, 2022
My 5lb. male Yorkshire was boarded for two nights early in November. 3 or 4 days after returning home he developed sneezing and chronic diarrhea. He is an INSIDE dog and was not exposed to anything anywhere subsequently following his boarding. He is still sick and I have spent $150 on vet bills. I DO NOT recommend this establishment!

From a silent charity auction in support of the Indian River Lagoon, I bought a gift certificate thinking I might find a new groomer for my Havapom. As life was opening up after the pandemic I called to make an appointment but was told they had suspended their grooming services temporarily but took my name and said they'd call when they began grooming again. I was also told that since there was no expiration date on the certificate, it would not expire. I was never contacted and apparently they do expire. Today as I was going through paperwork, I found the GC and I called to follow up -- granted months later. The receptionist was lovely and went to bat for me but the owner said no, twice. The receptionist asked me to send a copy of the certificate which I did and the owner because of a change in business ownership--but not the name yet again said no. I find this to be very poor customer service and my word of mouth marketing probably will not be what they would want to pay for. Anyhow, I'm disappointed since animal care is very personal and requires trust on the pet-owner's part, and with a management decision not to honor a gift certificate with their business's name printed on the certificate does not give me the warm and fuzzies.

I feel the need to leave this review since my previous review was under a different ownership. We were a very loyal customer for years, but now will not return. Myra was an excellent groomer but she's no longer there. We tried another groomer who when I called 3 mos later to schedule another appt. was no longer there. Had a small issue on the phone with a "new staff member" when I called to check on my dog during her last boarding stay. The staff is constantly changing which to me is a red flag, and I no longer trust them with my fur baby for grooming or boarding.

We love, love, love Miss Lilly! Thank you for letting us pamper her and for your kind words :)
Mar 18, 2017Previous reviewThis is our FAVORITE place for our Princess Lilly! She's a Golden-doodle. When we go on vacation, she goes to "the Spa"! The STAFF is AMAZING! They get to know your pet and treat them like their own. We also get our dog groomed here and have used a couple other places until we met Orchid Island Groomers. They are, by far, the best! My dog LOVES to go there and that is all it takes to know that they are doing a great job! She looks great, she's happy and she LOVES to go back! I would highly recommend them.

I went to this groomer because it was listed "as one of the best 10 groomers in this area". I have had my previous Yorkies (all of whom were well adjusted and lived for over 17 years), groomed since they were puppies. Today I brought my 3 1/2 month old puppy to have a puppy cut. Although, everyone was very nice, they refused to cut my puppies hair as it was not a good experience for her. While they did trim her face and nails they still charged me full price. I said I would not be returning. In my business the human customer is both paying and the needs of the dog are the decision of the owner. They said I was " closed minded. "

Thank you for always taking such great care of my baby! Gypsy absolutely loves it here and she is always so happy when I pick her up! A very noticeable difference between Orchid Island and other groomers. You can tell the pups receive love and not just a groom. They always go above and beyond we love love this place!

We've been bringing our dog Georgie here for about a year. The prices are good and she doesn't seem to mind going. We've also boarded her and it seemed to go well. Overall, we recommend.
